Identification of possible sources:  For some countries such as the EU, there is a single source available, called EU Export HelpDesk for Developing Countries available at  For the US as well there is an electronic source covering all the federal regulations, which is an extremely rich source available at

The search is done through going to:  internet: google, official websites of government agencies responsible for the specific area;  WTO SPS and TBT notifications, available at: ; aspx aspx  ASEAN Database on NTMs (though sometimes quite old and outdated), available at ;  The NTM Databases for some countries developed by UNCTAD and ITC as pilot countries

 To China: WTO SPS Notifications were searched:  To the EU: The EU Export Helpdesk was searched:  To Japan: The database of Japan’s NTMs developed by UNCTAD was used to find for the relevant NTMs, it can be made available on request, and will be soon available online.  To Republic of Korea: The WTO SPS Notifications were searched:  To the USA: The website of Electronic Codes of Federal Regulations was searched for the relevant legislation:

 Traceability requirements; Hygienic, Microbiological criteria; Other requirements during production process; tolerance limits, inspection, labeling requirements; Procedures based on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Principles.  There also requirements for materials and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs and products from organic production.

 To Thailand: The ASEAN NTM database, the pilot database and WTO Notifications were searched: ;  To Vietnam: The WTO SPS notifications and ASEAN NTM database were searched.  To China: The internet was searched and some regulations in English were found, also WTO SPS notifications were searched:

 No NTM information was found as a result of the search.  The need for Public Private Partnership: Producers and Government could cooperate together to make sure to have easy access to NTM related information on products of interest for producers and exporters.

 The comprehensiveness of database on NTMs depends on the availability of sources online.  Moreover, as it was mentioned before, while for some countries there is a comprehensive source for NTMs, for others there is not. Thus for some countries with comprehensive online available sources, there will be much more NTMs in the database, than for others, which should not at all mean that the one with more NTMs information is more restrictive than the ones with less information.
