DREAM BIG! AUGUST 14, 2010

TRUTH IN A NUTSHELL:  This is season where some people have stopped dreaming, they have reverted in their life to only being concerned with survival. However, I believe that this is the season for listening closely to what the Lord is saying about your life and your future.

TRUTH IN A NUTSHELL:  God still has a good plan for your life. This is the time to dream big dreams. If we would dream at all why not dream Big. We should ask God in faith believing to give you a dream to match the calling on your life and then fill you with His Spirit to enable you to fulfill the dream He gives you.

ACTS 26:19 “Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,

ACTS 26:19-20 (THE MESSAGE)  "What could I do, King Agrippa? I couldn't just walk away from a vision like that! I became an obedient believer on the spot. I started preaching this life-change—this radical turn to God and everything it meant in everyday life—right there in Damascus, went on to Jerusalem and the surrounding countryside, and from there to the whole world.

WORDS TO LIVE BY  Live your life as an exclamation.. not an explanation.. for Jesus Christ.  Don’t let the minor irritations in life take away your dreams.  When opportunity knocks, invite it in for dinner...  When facing a difficult task act as if you can’t fail…  If you go fishing for Moby Dick.. take tartar sauce.  When you pray for rain, take an umbrella.

PEOPLE WHO DO GREAT THINGS FOR GOD HAVE GOD SIZED DREAMS  God has designed you to dream big and see your dreams fulfilled.  The most energy depleting situation in life is where there is a perception that:  Your life isn’t really going anywhere and  It will never change…it will always be the same old, same old.  Your best season in life is in the past and it will never get any better than this.  Don’t let go of your dream.

GOD IS THE SOURCE OF BIG DREAMS: ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

DREAMS TAKE ACTION.  Thomas Edison when he invented the light bulb, tried 700 wrong filaments that didn’t work before he found one that did work.  Remember the priests at the Jordon? They had to STEP IN!

WALK IN FAITH, PATIENCE, COURAGE AND ABOUND IN GRACE!  Results will never start until we do. We have to continue to walk toward our dreams to see anything happen.  God doesn’t always give a time-line on our dreams.  It takes courage to see the dream come to pass.  It takes faith to wait on the dream without becoming discouraged or giving up.

WATCH OUT FOR THE DREAM STEALERS  Satan will do anything and use anybody in an attempt to steal your dreams:  John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. 1. Using discouraging words from other Christians. 2. Don’t let people who have let their dreams die, kill yours as well. 3. Words of close friends and family to introduce doubt and fear. 4. He uses both diverters and distractors to rob you of your dreams:

I AM DOING A GREAT WORK!  Nehemiah 6:3 So I sent messengers to them, saying, “I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?”  The “do nothings”…who just want you to put it off.

FOR GOD’S DREAM TO COME TRUE ITS GOING TO TAKE A LOT OF FAITH AND HARD WORK.  Walk toward the dream and let God open the way before you.  Take a risk and let God bless you.  Be open to letting God interrupt your plan with a better plan.

ACTS 16:6-10  6 Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. 7 After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit [a] did not permit them. 8 So passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas. 9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” 10 Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.a

CONCLUSION:  Ask God for His dream for your life, then walk toward the dream with everything that you have, and never allow anyone to steal your dream.
