Year 10 An Inspector Calls
Learning Objective To understand how to construct an analytical essay. Success criteria: Everyone will have part of an essay response – some will have a mindmap, some will have a plan and some will have a PEE paragraph.
Recap – no cheating: books closed! What can you remember about Act One events? Act Two? Mr Birling? Mrs Birling? Gerald? Sheila? Inspector Goole? Tension in the play? Challenge: Think about the way it has been written.
Talking Points – Remember the rules? 1. The younger generation are more open minded than the older generation and have a greater sense of right and wrong. 2. People should always be honest with each other: regardless of consequences. 3. Families should stick together at all costs.

STEAL Stand up. Have a walk around the tables – and use the washing line – and skim through the comments people have made/completed. Steal at least one idea and write it down.
