Chapter 1  Sampson – dark curly hair, honey-gold skin  Brother  Mother  Strict, physically hits children when they do something wrong  Gets hurt by fixing park bench  Stone falls on him  Goes to the hospital Introduced to the medical field He is fascinated by the process of medicine

Chapter 2  Rameck  Attends Catholic School  He gets bored in school  Spends a lot of time in the office in trouble  Was sent to the office because he was throwing pencils in the air to hit the ceiling  Principal seems to think putting Rameck in a lower class will solve all of his problems  Principal wants the tuition bill paid, makes a point to tell Rameck  Rameck becomes upset  Gets into a fight  With someone who bully’s him  The fight goes unnoticed  Goes home and sees his grandmother  He expresses concerns about his school  Grandmother says she will talk to his mother about transferring schools.

Chapter 3  George  Likes school  Has a good relationship with his teacher  Get insulted by a woman. He learns that people judge.  Starts to think about college

Chapter 4  Sampson dreamed of becoming a baseball player  Area in which they played in was filled with weeds and unpaved area  Sampson gets caught stealing icees. Learns a lesson not steal.
