Second Persian Invasion BC Led by Persian King Artaxeres Defeated central and southern Greeks states Known as the ‘Kings Peace’ Macedonia emerged as the leading state in the region, unconquered by Persian and untroubled by the internal conflicts that plagued other Greek states.

Revenge on Persia? Both Philip II and Alexander claimed that war with Persia was necessary as revenge for the Persian conquests of the Greek states. Do you think this was justified?
