Today we will be sharing our knowledge about something in particular and coming up with questions we want to answer. Here’s a clue to the subject… What has a bark but no bite, limbs but can’t walk and rings but no fingers? A TREE!

It’s time to get working. With your group, jot down as many facts as you can about trees. Use the Post-it notes on the tables. You are going to need to demonstrate excellent group work as well as superb speaking and listening skills. Think about how you will organise your group. DATE: Learning Intention: To share knowledge on a subject. Context: Trees

Now choose one ‘spy’ to fly over to another group and ‘steal’ some facts from them. DATE: Learning Intention: To share knowledge on a subject. Context: Trees

Now it’s time to share our facts. As a group, choose your top three facts and be ready to share them with the class. Once you have shared the facts, put all of your notes on the working wall. DATE: Learning Intention: To share knowledge on a subject. Context: Trees

What would you like to find out about the amazing world of trees? DATE: Learning Intention: To pose questions to develop lines of enquiry. Context: Trees
