Question: how does different sitting positions affect score and ability to play video games Hypothesis: as we change the position we sit in more relaxed positions then we have better scores and results because you will be more comfortable and less stressed so scores will increase. (most comfortable position is laying back in soft chair/most aware position laying down/uncomfortable sitting against wall)

In conclusion my hypothesis was incorrect I thought that the more comfortable position would relax me more and give me a better score the highest score for the comfortable position is 20 lowest 18 and avg 19kills the more aware position highest was 23 lowest 20 and avg was 21 kills and the uncomfortable position highest was 18 lowest was 16 and avg 17kills therefore my hypothesis was incorrect and the more aware position improves gaming ability.

The term “ergonomics” is derived from two Greek words: “ergon”, meaning work and “nomoi”, meaning natural laws. Ergonomists study human capabilities in relationship to work demands. How ergonomics effects us In recent years, ergonomists have attempted to define postures which minimize unnecessary static work and reduce the forces acting on the body. All of us could significantly reduce our risk of injury if we could adhere to the few solution steps.

All of us could significantly reduce our risk of injury if we could adhere to the following ergonomic principles: All work activities should permit the worker to adopt several different, but equally healthy and safe postures Where muscular force has to be exerted it should be done by the largest appropriate muscle groups available. Work activities should be performed with the joints at about mid-point of their range of movement. This applies particularly to the head, trunk, and upper limbs.

Musculoskeletal Disorder An injury of the soft tissues of the upper extremity and lower extremity that is primarily caused or exacerbated by workplace factors such as sustained or repetitive exertions or awkward postures and manipulations. Repetitive Motion Injury A physical disorder that develops from or is aggravated by the repetitive application of stress to the musculoskeletal without allowing for sufficient rest.

Two elements are at work here: “static work” and “force.” “Static work” refers to the musculoskeletal effort required to hold a certain position, even a comfortable one. For example, when we sit and work at computers, keeping our head and torso upright requires either small or great amounts of static work depending upon the efficiency of the body positions we choose. “Force” refers to the amount of tension our muscles generate.
