Whooping cough was discovered in 1906 by two French scientists and they found the pertussis bacteria. 5,000 to 10,000 people died due to the whooping cough bacteria. The infection last about 2-4 weeks, the cough paroxysm can persists for several months. If the infection wasn’t treated on time it could possibly last a couple of months. I guess it would be useful to find a cure that will stop it forever I guess we could do research and experiment to find a better cure.
