Route of transmission Dengue virus is transmitted to human by mosquitoes, especially Aedes aegypti 埃及伊 蚊 and Aedes albopictu 白紋伊蚊. Transmission By Vectors

Route of transmission This is a day-biting species 日間叮人 with increased biting activities for 2 hours after sunrise and several hours before sunset. Patients are usually infective for mosquitoes from shortly before to the end of the febrile period 剛發燒前至退燒期, an average of about 6-7 days. It cannot be directly transmitted from person to person.

Preventive measures Personal protection measures ~Wear long-sleeved shirts and trousers ~Avoid staying in scrubby 多樹的 areas ~Use mosquito screens or nets when the room is not air-conditioned ~Use insect repellents 驅蚊劑 containing DEET 避蚊胺 on exposed skin ~If travelling in endemic rural areas, carry a portable bed-net and apply permethrin 氯菊酯 噴 on it as well as to clothes.

Mosquito control (larval control and adult mosquito control) ~Periodic draining or removal of artificial containers to reduce the breeding grounds for mosquitos ~Keep the water stores clean and closed. ~Use of larvicides 殺幼蟲劑 or mosquito larvae-eating fish in waters that cannot be drained. ~Fill tree holes with sand or cement 水泥 and plug the tops of bamboo fences.
