A Vision of the King Isaiah 6:1-10

highness In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Isaiah 6:1

holiness Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!" Isaiah 6:2-3

heaviness And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. Isaiah 6:4

helplessness And I said: "Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!" Isaiah 6:5

The doctrine of sin

…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,  Romans 3:23

Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins. Ecclesiastes 7:20

“The soul that sins shall surely die.”   Ezekiel 18:1

We sin With our passions

as it is written: "None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God.   Romans 3:10-11

We sin With our hands

All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.  Romans 3:12

We sin With our Mouths

"Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive "Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive."  "The venom of asps is under their lips."    "Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness."   Romans 3:13-14

We sin With our Feet

…in their paths are ruin and misery, and the way of peace they have not known."    "There is no fear of God before their eyes." Romans 3:16-19

We are Without excuse

For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. Romans 1:20

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21

Sell your possessions, and give to the needy.  Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. Luke 12:33

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4

Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation 1 Peter 2:2

Here am I, Send me

A hard place And he said, "Go, and say to this people: ‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing but do not perceive.'  Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes;  lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed. Isaiah 6:9-10

Does obedience to God lead to success and comfort?

How could Isaiah walk in faithfulness? He saw the king!

When you see the king There is: Highness holiness heaviness helplessness A hard question help Here am i A hard place

If you have seen the king: Wave a white flag!

So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:33
