God’s Wisdom For Our World GOD’S WISDOM IN WORSHIP “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory” (Isaiah 6:3).

We Look Upward (1-3) “I saw the Lord... Lofty and exalted.” What happened to Isaiah must happen to us. Note Revelation 4, verses 8 and 11. Through the eye of faith, we see the Lord!

We Look Inward (4-5) Isaiah realized his very special privilege. He realized his sinfulness and unworthiness. He confessed his sin and repented. The same must happen to us as we worship.

We Look Outward (6-7) An angel cleansed the lips of Isaiah. He was sanctified in order to speak for the Lord. In worship we are cleansed of our iniquities. Forgiven, we are prepared for the Lord’s work.

We Look Forward (8-9a) “Whom shall I send, who will go for Us?” “Here am I. Send me!” “Go, and tell this people...” When worship is over, our service is not! We take the Lord to the people.

To Worship is to feed the mind on the truths of God, To quicken the conscience by the holiness of God, To cleanse the conscience with the beauty of God, To open the heart to the love of God, To devote the will to the purpose of God. William Temple,
