KfW, DED and InWEnt)  From 2008 onwards: GDC MS HIV website and platform  June 2010: All GTZ Focal Points and DED Mainstreaming Advisors met and requested that head offices define one agreed German approach to HIV mainstreaming

Seite 3 Where We Came From...Cont‘d  June 2010: Africa Department requested the reduction of network of Focal Points of countries with a national HIV prevalence of at least 4% (based on survey of all FP and country teams regarding HIV risks and impacts on their programmes)  Medium and Lower Prevalence Countries (MLPC) formed their own working group  December 2010: BMZ and all four implementing organisations endorse the guidance note on an agreed German approach to HIV mainstreaming  June 2011: First meeting of MLPC working group in Bujumbura

Seite 4 Where We Are  March 2012: First meeting of HPC MS HIV Network  Main Topics:  Implementation of evidence-based HIV mainstreaming according to endorsed approach (guidance note)  HIV mainstreaming after GIZ merger

Seite 5 5/13/ i) Adress challenges concerning the implementation of the joint GDC approach to HIV mainstreaming ii) Establish HIV mainstreaming network as self sustaining, member- led working group Main Goals of the HIV Network Meeting

Seite 6 Forward Looking Where we want to go  HIV MS network members to take more responsibility for sustaining the initiative as technical support through Sector Initiative PROFILE ends by December 2012  HIV MS network will continue to operate as independent group alongside the GIZ Sector network Health & Social protection, working on issues that pertain to GDC’s HIV mainstreaming only  Members will join the HV working group for topics of shared interest between the two  Today: Let us clarify joint interests and areas of work

Seite 7 Main results of the HIV Network Meeting  Best practices on common MS approaches at country level shared by KfW - Zambia  Shared results of the inventories and identified main challenges and ways of dealing with them  Based on the above, we formulated topics for working groups  Monitoring and Evaluation  WPP for Internal MS  Risk Identification  Established working plans for the working groups  Stronger commitment from network members to take up more repsonsibilites of the network function  Elected a new Speaker

Seite 8 Common Topics Suggested for HIV Working Group  Behaviour change communication intervention  Why: All of us implement such activities in the WPP and give advice for it in external mainstreaming  Linkages between HIV/SRHR/Gender  Why: Better understand the subject in view of giving advice
