Now, generally speaking, would you say that things in the country are going in the right direction, or have they pretty seriously gotten off on the wrong track? PESSIMISM IS HITTING A NEW HIGH IN THE WAKE OF VETERANS ADMINISTRATION NEWS. Wrong Track Right Direction

Do you approve or disapprove of the job Barack Obama is doing as President? AND OBAMA APPROVAL RATING IS DOWN A COUPLE OF POINTS FROM TWO WEEKS PRIOR. Disapprove Approve

Next, continuing to think about the November election in 2014 for federal offices such as U.S. Senate or Congress… Please tell me, using a scale from 0 to 10, where 0 means "not at all interested" and 10 means "extremely interested," how interested you are, personally, in the upcoming November election. VETERANS AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT On average, military veterans wait more than 150 days to receive medical benefits. And recently, it was discovered that a Veterans Affairs Department hospital in Phoenix tried to cover up delays in service for more than 1,400 sick veterans, including some who died while waiting for care. Knowing this, please indicate whether you agree or disagree with each statement below.

SIX-IN-TEN VOTERS AGREE THIS IS A “CLEAR FAILURE OF PRESIDENT OBAMA,” INCLUDING ONE-THIRD OF DEMOCRATS AND 61% OF INDEPENDENTS. Agree The ineptitude at the Department of Veterans Affairs, which we have now discovered is so bad that veterans are actually dying, is a clear failure of President Obama, who campaigned in 2008 and 2012 of correcting these exact problems. Total By Party DisagreeAgreeDisagreeAgreeDisagreeAgreeDisagree

NEAR UNIVERSAL AGREEMENT THAT THIS IS A FAILURE OF CONGRESSIONAL OVERSIGHT, LITTLE PARTISAN DIFFERENCE. The ineptitude at the Department of Veterans Affairs, which we have now discovered is so bad that veterans are actually dying, is a clear failure of the U.S. Congress, which is supposed to oversee these programs instead of just making empty promises on the campaign trail. Agree Total By Party DisagreeAgreeDisagreeAgreeDisagreeAgreeDisagree

OVERWHELMING AGREEMENT THAT VOTERS ARE LESS LIKELY TO SUPPORT CANDIDATES CAUGHT IN HYPOCRISY OVER THIS ISSUE. I would be less likely to vote for an incumbent Congressman or Senator who made campaign promises to protect veterans, but got to Washington and allowed this to happen instead of protecting America’s servicemen and women. 52% Strng 44% Strng 53% Strng 61% Strng AgreeDisagreeAgreeDisagreeAgreeDisagreeAgreeDisagree Total By Party

VETERANS DESERVE A GOVERNMENT THAT WILL FIGHT TO PROTECT THEM. America’s veterans deserve a government that will fight to protect them instead of allowing bureaucracy and big government ineptitude to put their health, their livelihood, and their lives at risk. Total By Party Agree
