It is exciting and a measure of our success that the overwhelming majority of our students choose to go to university at the end of their A Level or Level 3 BTEC course. All of the year group who wanted to go to University last summer were successful in securing their places at University. The majority of students secured places at Universities of their choice including Southampton, Kings College London and Queen Mary to name a few. Those students who do not wish to go to university are given excellent guidance and support regarding their next step by the school. POST SIXTH FORM

Three reasons you may want to continue to study a subject at a higher level are: 1.You have been good at and have enjoyed the subject in the past. 2.You need this subject to enter a particular career or course. 3.You have not studied the subject before but have looked into it and think it will suit your strengths. MAKING YOUR POST-16 SUBJECT CHOICES

1. Subjects are distinctly more difficult at an advanced level than at GCSE 2.Make sure you have got your facts straight. There are many misconceptions about subjects required for courses and careers. Look at the UCAS website. 3.Don’t take uninformed risks. What is the new subject actually about? 4.Does your performance match your ambition? FURTHER CONSIDERATIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT

Although they may not be specified as required subjects, many successful applicants to competitive universities have advanced level qualifications in at least two of the facilitating subjects.
