What we do well IAG prior to enrolment - interviews Enrolment IAG To liaise with tutors, teachers and managers, to provide a comprehensive service while students on course Work with our partnership universities, on activities around mock interviews and writing a personal statement, this has involved working with Queen Mary, London, Middlesex University and Greenwich university. What we do well Work in partnership with high profile employers to: - raise awareness - aspirations - understanding of careers - employability skills Examples include: - Law careers day with Royal Bank of Scotland - CV workshop delivered by Barclays - Employer led days with Price Waterhouse Coopers and KPMG - Pilot with Accenture, Global consultancy firm to deliver an interactive, fun, character building, employability programme - Olympic opportunities Rob Ferguson & Paddy Salter (Newham Sixth Form College) May 2012

Challenges Pre-entry interview students have misconceptions about entry requirements. Understanding the importance of the GCSEs for those on Level 3 courses and entry to higher education and employment. Apprenticeships – entry levels, jobs roles, progression opportunities. Health and Social Care – understanding of requirements for Nursing degree courses and university selection. Student Finance – difficulty with online applications and income-assessed applications.
