Filament winding is a fabrication technique for forming reinforced plastic parts of high strength and light weight.

The use of circumferential wrapping to increase the bursting strength.

 Precision high-speed positioning of continuous fiber in a pre-determined pattern is the basis of the filament winding process.  In this there is a mandrel that the fiber and resin wound upon, is cured in room temp or in oven. After cure mandrel is removed leaving a hallow composite structure. 1. circular type 2. rectangular type

 Circumferential winding  Helical winding

Curing- Polymerization of composites on mandrel. Pressure chambers- System also requires pressure in addition to heat.
