Understanding of plants as living things Introduction to the reproductive process of a plant and the reproductive organs in the flower: Pistil (stigma, style and ovary) and Stamen (anther and filament) Introduction to some terms related to reproduction: pollination, fertilization, and germination Understanding how plants breathe and make their own food Back to Overview

Learners will: Use simple structures in the present simple tense to communicate Be introduced to the passive voice in the present (it’s formed, it’s called…) Learn the names of the parts of a flower: pistil, stigma, style, stamen, anther and filament Learn the names of their reproductive process ( pollination, fertilization, germination) Back to Overview

Learners will be using various Cognitive SkillsCognitive Skills and will develop both LOTS & HOTSLOTS & HOTS Making conclusions about uses of a plant Recognising the importance of plants in our lives and their role Recognising and naming the main parts of a flower Understanding the function of the flower See Bloom’s Wheel for cognitive learning tasksBloom’s Wheel Back to Overview

CAN Dos: Learners will: Develop listening, writing and memorising skills Develop their artistic skills by drawing what they learn and by singing Work co-operatively in problem-solving groups Explain the importance of plants in our life through spoken language Explain the names of the parts of a plant through spoken language Back to Overview

Students will be: Gaining an understanding of plants as living things Showing respect for plants as living things Understanding the importance of plants in our lives (They give us food, oxygen, some are used to make furniture, clothes….) Back to Overview

Learning Behaviours Back to OverviewBack to Cognition We have to remember a concept before we can understand it. We have to understand a concept before we can apply it. We have to be able to apply a concept before we analyze it. We have to analyze a concept before we can evaluate it. We have to remember, understand, apply, analyze, and evaluate a concept before we can create.
