Childhood  Abraham Lincoln was born February 12, 1809 in Kentucky.  He was the second child of Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Lincoln.  When Lincoln was nine, his mother Nancy died  His older sister, Sarah, took charge of caring for him until their father remarried in 1819  He was mostly self-educated and was an avid reader.

In autumn, he becфme engaged to Mary Todd On November 4th, Abraham Lincoln married Mary Todd in Springfield On August 1st, his first child, Robert Todd Lincoln, was born March 10th, a son, Edward Baker Lincoln was born On April 4th, his fourth son, Thomas (Tad) Lincoln was born

In May, the Lincoln family moved into a house in Springfield, Illinois, bought for $1,500. In December, he dissolved his law partnership with Logan, then set up his own practice.
