The level of measurement determines which STATISTICAL CALCULATIONS are meaningful. 1) NOMINAL LEVEL EX of data set: Types of Music Played by a Radio Station Data categorized using names, labels, or qualities. For instance, 71.5 – 65.5 = 6 F. So, June is 6 warmer than May. Put in a category, put in order, & find differences between values. Zero is NOT an inherent zero (simply a position on a scale).
