Question  Do fruit flies really like fruit? If not what food do they like best?

My hypothesis…..  They will prefer any sweet smelling thing I put in there.

What I used for this experiment  Assortment of food  Glass tank  Fruit flies  Patience

Procedure  I waited for the flies to reproduce so I would have plenty of test subjects. Then I put about 40 in the glass tank along with 4 specimens of food in each corner. The flies I put in the center each time.

My conclusion: Fruit flies do like fruit more than any other food. Their favorite fruit Is Watermelon.
