What is Telework? (telecommuting, ecommuting, virtual work) The use of telecommunications technology to break the conventional office mold and allow work at a distance Using technology to enhance and replace traditional transportation Working from home, telework centers, satellite offices, or “Third Places” Full-time vs. a couple of days per week, regular vs. intermittent schedule "It doesn't make much difference what you call it--as long as you do it." -- Gil Gordon

Telework Statistics More than 65 % of teleworkers are employed by companies with fewer than 100 employees. By 2008, 100 million people will work from home at least one day per month. U.S. teleworkers work from an average of 3.4 different locations!

Financial Incentives up to $35,000 total Notebook computers/other equipment for teleworkers* 80% up to $3,500 per employee Server/other equipment*50% up to $10,000 Technical/Consultant Assistance 100% up to $25,000 Telework Center Use50% up to $10,000 per business *Lease costs

Eligibility Requirements Private sector company or non- profit organization At least 20 employees working at the participating site Eligible, participating employees should telework an average of 1 or 2 days per week (6 days per month)
