Proposed Vista 2015 Strategic Plan Goal 3 PACESetters! Goal 3 Increase choice offerings, access to postsecondary options, and increase postsecondary and workforce readiness (PWR) Objective 1 Implement career pathways in all schools Action 1: Increase proficiency rates in math and science by 5 percent annually in order to meet or exceed the state average for all students enrolled in the STEM pathway Action 2: Increase proficiency rates in math and science by 5 percent annually in order to meet or exceed the state average for all students enrolled in the Health Sciences pathway Action 3: Construct a shared 2 year and 4 year higher education building on the P-20 campus by 2015 Action 4: All students will have access to one or more career pathways by 2015 Objective 2 Expand choice program options for students Action 1: Implement Expeditionary Learning at designated sites by fall 2011 Action 2: Implement the International Baccalaureate program at designated sites by 2011 Action 3: Develop and support pilot schools so that each school exceeds the district average on state assessments by the end of the third year Objective 3 Increase postsecondary options and the workforce readiness of APS graduates Action 1: Increase by 10 percent annually the 4 year cohort graduation rate Action 2: Increase the composite ACT score by.75 annually Action 3: Increase the percentage of students enrolled in AP courses by increasing the number of AP courses at each high school to 15 by 2011 Action 4: Expand student access to college, postsecondary options, and dual credit while attending high school and upon graduation by increasing 10 percent annually the number of students taking advantage of postsecondary options Action 5: Expand student access to college, postsecondary options, and dual credit while attending high school and upon graduation by increasing 10 percent annually the number of students attending college Action 6: Graduation rates at the Rebound program will annually meet or exceed the state graduation rate Action 7: 75 percent of Futures students will complete the program with either GED, industry credential, or associate's degree Action 8: Revise APS graduation requirements to include industry credentials as appropriate, based on career pathways, for the class of 2015 Action 9: Revise APS graduation requirements to include a requirement of earning college credit for the class of 2015
