Agenda 1. Introduction - Tom Dick What is a Studio Model? 2. Reflections from Teacher Scholars - Amber Clark and Marissa Watson 3. Questions/Discussion - YOU!

What is the Studio Model?

Reflections from a Studio Teacher Work in the studio school emphasizes the planning and rehearsal of several research-based teaching practices that meet the criteria for “mathematically productive” practices.

Online Collaborative

Learning from Practice “Because there will never be an accumulation of evidence that will tell teachers exactly what they should do from day-to-day, from minute to-minute, it is essential that teachers know how to learn from their practice.” Ball & Cohen, 1999

Pre-Service Teachers Benefits of the Studio Experience Link between theory & practice Teacher Reflection Collaborative Learning

Questions/Discussion Thanks!
