Egyptian Dress – B.C.  Linen was used exclusively as a textile with the Egyptians because it was all they were able to grow in their area.  Dyes were from natural products and could be used to color fabrics. Often they were used as the surface decorative threads of embroidery, or in weaving patterns.

 Typical Ancient Egyptian Dye Colors Blue- a dark indigo. ○ indigo fades so it was sometimes paler blue. Red - similar to Indian red. Yellow - similar to yellow ochre.
