9010 TWI Program -- Dec 2006 Outcomes from a 9010 TWI Program in California This program has been in operation for over 7 years, so its students are in middle school. Background Information on Students: 68% ELL, 32% EP Of ELL: 63% on free lunch Of EP: 35% on free lunch; 69% Latino & 13% Anglo Remember -- in interpreting norm-referenced tests, NCEs of represent grade-level scores.

9010 TWI Program -- Dec 2006 Growth in English Proficiency Previous ELL Students l The students made good growth in developing proficiency in English.

9010 TWI Program -- Dec 2006 Reading Achievement Assessed in Spanish (SABE2) TWI vs. District vs. State EPs, FEPs, & ELLs scored above average to very high. They scored higher than the state and equal or superior to district averages. Scores decreased, (still above average) after 6th grade--when students moved to the middle school.
