Machine Learning & Bioinformatics 1 Tien-Hao Chang (Darby Chang)

Final Project 2

Topic 3 Protein-protein interaction or anything you want (please be related to Bioinformatics)

Strategy 4 A novel algorithm An application using existing algorithms/tools

A novel algorithm There might be some state-of-the-art ones –overtaking them is very difficult Suggestions –special purpose: constrains, targets, … –hybridization: both pre-processing and post- processing are fine, but not implement them from scratch 5

An application Discard the “better” myth of more accurate or requiring less time and memory space –better could be “more convenient”, e.g. atomizing a series of procedures to perform an important function The contribution depends on how important/useful the problem is rather than how complicated the algorithm is 6

No idea? From discussion –GO-guided clustering and annotation –docking automation From gossip –PPI network visualization From others’ reading projects From exercises –genomic information –GO information 7
