INTSOK - Norwegian Oil & Gas Partners INTSOK was established in 1997 as an independent non-profit foundation to strengthen the long-term basis for value creation and employment in the Norwegian oil and gas industry through expanding the industry’s international business activities. INTSOK currently includes 225 independent, operating companies and their subsidiaries

Factors enabling development of Norwegian national content Started in the 1970’s with a good Industrial basis with yards and maritime suppliers Technology Gap for offshore developments required improvement and development of technologies Tax incentives and mild pressure through the concessional regime for offshore leases stimulated operators to work with the industry. Resulted in low cost and low risk for the operators in development of new technology International suppliers established technology hubs in Norway Although procurement has been based on open competition and objective criteria for evaluation, we see many similarities with the current situation in Brazil 13
