Claimant Count…  October JSA count for Devon 9,645, the lowest figure since January 2009  Devon’s claim rate at 2.2% (SW 2.9% GB 4.1%)  Torridge has the highest LAD rate within DCC at 2.7% Stock…  October count stands at 3,070  Devon’s stock increased by 1,045 or 51.6% between October 08 and October 09. The year on year GB increase was 58.6%.  32% of customers claiming JSA fall into the age range (SW & GB 30.3%) Unemployment and Worklessness

JSA On Flow…  2,782 customers joined the JSA register in Devon in October, 2% less than in September  Increase of 336 or 13.7% on October The GB increase was 26.9%  6 of Devon’s LADs recorded in-month decreases in on-flow (highest falls in Teignbridge and Exeter, 10.4% and 5.4% respectively) JSA Off Flow…  3197 customers left the JSA register in Devon in October  Off-flows in Devon are up by 1,415 or 79.4% on Oct 08. The GB increase was 44%  Devon’s off-flow figure in October is the highest since April 1999

Unemployment and Worklessness Jobcentre Plus Vacancies  5,097 vacancies notified in Devon in October an increase on September of 1,067 or 26.5%. Notified vacancies in Devon also increased by 1,071 or 26.6% on October 08  Devon showed 4,564 ‘unfilled’ vacancies in October an increase on the September figure of 623 or 15.8%. Unfilled vacancies in Devon also increased by 441 or 10.7% on October 08  Devon currently has a ratio of 2.1 JSA claimants per unfilled Jobcentre vacancy. The SW and GB ratios are 3.5 and 5.7 respectively
