Church Council Duty: Administrative and Ministry … Overseas and reports on all ministries of the church. Governing board where all committees report to, makes final decision on major ministry decisions. Who is on it… 9 people maximum (3 x 3 year terms) plus lay member to annual conference and lay leader, must be a member of Hale UMC (Chuck Hamilton- Chairperson, Denise Braun, Mike Jacobs, Lana Vohwinkle, Irma Marr, Catriana Nichols, Karen Emery, Jim Schiermyer, Bill Milliron, Janet Bovee) When it meets: Usually 2 nd Monday of the month 7pm

Trustees Committee Duty: Oversea and maintain church property (including parsonage), legal representatives in all matters relating to property Who is on it … 3 to 9 people (3x3 year term) have to be over 18 and 2/3 have to be members. (Jesse Klein-chairperson, Craig Egresics, Tom Booth, Shannon Ludwig, Joe Vohwinkle, Bob Joss, Carolyn Wright, Ron Bassi, Chris Jacobs). When it meets: Usually 1 st Monday of the Month 7:30pm

Lay Leadership/Nominations Duty: Communicate committee functions and needs, discern the gifts of the people in the congregation and help place people in ministries and committees. (They are responsible to nominate people for committees for our church conference each year). Who is on it: Led by pastor, 5-9 people (3x3 year term), and Lay Leader. Have to be a member of the church to be on this committee. (Pastor David Goudie- chairperson, Chuck Hamilton, Karen Emery, Jim Schiermyer, Lana Vohwinkle, Kaye Bellville, Larry Steinley.) When Meets: Periodically as determined (most often has met on the third Monday of the month at 7pm)

Stewardship and Finance Committee Duty: Oversea budget (bring to the church council for approval) and day to day finances (monthly financial reports) and develop stewardship plan Who is on it: made up largely of positions (chairperson, treasurer, financial secretary, Memorial fund Treasurer, Lay Leader, Church council chairperson, Board of Trustees chairperson, Auditor) plus 3 at large (Jim Rollin- Chairperson, Pastor David Goudie, Mark Parkinson-Treasurer, Jennifer Thomsen, Roma Bassi- Financial Secretary, Sherrill Parkinson- Milliron, Karen Emery, Jim Schiermyer, Rita Seeburger, Jesse Klein, David Riches, Craig Egresics, Margaret Humphrey) When meets: Currently 2 nd Thursday of the month (at 7pm) Used to be 4 th Monday at 6 (may change)

Endowment Committee Duty: oversea Endowment fund and distribution Who is on it: positions plus three at large (Rita Seeburger, David Goudie, Mark Parkinson, Jim Rollin, Jesse Klein, Chuck Hamilton, David Riches, Dick Dryden) When Meets: Periodically as needed

Scholarship committee Duty: overseas Scholarship fund and distribution Who is on it: positions plus a couple at large (Sherrill Parkinson-Milliron, David Goudie, Rita Seeburger, Karen Emery/ Jim Schiermyer, Lynn Barclay, Rod Crainer/Janet Bovee, Darlene Leiva) When Meets: Periodically as needed

Ministry/ Program Committees

Witness and Outreach Duty: create programs and ministries which reach out to the community, connect with missions, and help publicize Who is on it: Chairperson needs to be member, others can be active participants in congregation (Still need a chairperson, David Goudie, Lynda MacAlpine, Jennifer Thomsen, Lana Vohwinkle, Cel Clark, Ralph Marshall, Darlene Marshall, Ron Kelso, Roma Bassi, added Helen Alford) When meets: 1 st Monday of the Month at 7:30 (same time as trustees) Note: A number of people who had been on this committee had moved so we could still use more people who are interested.

Nurture and Care Duty: Create programs and ministries which care for and connect those within Hale UMC, Communion Shut In, Small Groups, and connecting with inactive members Who is on it: Chairperson needs to be member, others can be active participants in congregation (Jean Roth- Chairperson, Lana Vohwinkle, Chuck Hamilton, Sandy Hamilton, Ken and Karen Emery, Barb Obey, Onylea Armstead, Bill Milliron, Darlene Leiva, Sherrill Parkinson- Milliron, Joy Riches) When Meets: 3 rd or 4 th Monday of the month at 2:30pm

Worship Duty: Help foster and aid in Sunday morning worship Who is on it: small committee plus various needed positions (committee: Ronnie Heydon, David Goudie, Mike Jacobs) (positions: Karen O’Connor, Beverley Schartner, Robin &Morgan Vance, Jean Roth, TJ Gertz, Frank Leiva/ Jim Schiermeyer, Darlene Marshall, Margaret Humphrey, Lynn Barclay) also should add Ryan and Laura Parkinson for Audio Visual) When meets: Has been rather sporadic now, had been 1 st Sunday of the month at 12:30 pm, also has usually been just a select few of those at large on team, instead of everyone who serves for worship.

Christian Education Duty: help oversee Sunday school, JR church, connects with Joy Club and other mid-week small groups and special children’s activities Who is on it: Chairperson is to be a member … other various positions and all Sunday School teachers (Lynn Barclay – Chairperson, Kelsey Klein, Deana Nichols, Jacquie Farrand, Robin Vance, Darlene Leiva/ Carol Troyer, Rod Crainer, David Goudie, Catriana Nichols, other Sunday School teachers: Jeanie Steinley, Terry and Janet Bovee, Ron Kelso) When Meets: 2 nd Sunday of the Month at 12:30 pm
