Teaching Environment Task Force (TETF): A Representative Group of College Employees and Students Purpose: 1.To analyze facilities development needs in light of population and enrollment changes since the 1999 Master Plan. 2.To consider facilities development needs in light of current and future curricular needs and requirements. Key Findings: Population Growth and Need for Facilities SJDC District will grow from 750,000 residents today to over a million by A significant share of the population growth will occur outside of Stockton: Lodi-Galt ~Tracy-Mountain House ~ Manteca-Lathrop ~ Foothills. provide an educational center in Lodi-Galt, develop expanded educational centers in Tracy (Mountain House) and Manteca, provide an educational center in the Foothills, continue to serve our regional population with Internet classes. Overall, we project College enrollment will grow at a minimum of 3% per year. To serve our growing regional population, we need to:

Over 26,000 students with Lodi-Galt zip codes attend Delta College, and they enroll in an average of 6 courses per year.

Business Services including transportation and public utilities, trade, finance, insurance and real estate Amusement/Recreation Services Government including education, law enforcement, and corrections Computer and Office Equipment/Computer Services Research and Testing Drug testing and Development Key Findings: Curricular Needs Common major employment industries throughout the District: Educated professionals will be in high demand throughout the District, and strong programs that prepare students for workforce and for transfer to four-year colleges will continue to be needed.

Curricular Needs in Lodi-Galt General Education and Transfer Administration of Justice (Corrections, Law Enforcement) Nursing Prerequisites Teacher Education Viticulture including Plant Science and Agriculture Animal Husbandry, Culinary Arts, and Hospitality Based on the demographic and employment trends in the Lodi-Galt area, the TETF group agreed that the District should consider implementing the following programs at an educational center in Lodi-Galt:
