Situation: Enemy Scouts report that enemy cache sites to our front consisting of 2-4 men lightly armed who have conducted hit and run ambushes against our forces. The enemy will fight if engaged. Friendly Forces Higher Unit: A Company conducts zone recon oriented on OBJ GETTYSBURG (ET ) NLT (H+80) to regain contact with the enemy. Left Unit Mission: 2PLT, A Company, defends BP METS NLT (H+80) to defeat enemy forces. Right Unit Mission: 3PLT, A Company, defends BP ASTROS NLT (H+80) to defeat enemy forces Mission:1PLT conducts zone recon oriented on OBJ GETTYSBURG vic. ET NLT (H+80) to gather intel on the enemy Execution : Concept Maneuver: The PLT is the advance guard of a company approach march. The platoon will move in a wedge formation, traveling overwatch, with 1SQD as the lead squad, 2SQD on the left, 3SQD on the right. Once contact is made the lead SQD will gather intel on the enemy forces. Fires: No arty fires available. 2 nd in priority for Co mortars Tasks to Maneuver Units: 1SQD, the lead squad crosses LD vic. (ET ) NLT (H+45) upon contact to conduct area recon. 2SQD crosses the LD NLT (H+45) on left flank to conduct area recon. 3SQD crosses the LD NLT (H+45) on right flank to conduct area recon. Coord/Inst: PIR: Weapons, Communications equipment, NBC Capabilities, Direction of travel Reports: Crossing LD, enemy contact, captured EPWs, ACE after consolidation, and SITREPS/SALUTE as needed.
