Dear Friends and Family, On May 9th, 2015 I will be participating in a walkathon to raise funds for a week-long camp provided free of charge to children who have been abused, neglected or abandoned. This camp is called Royal Family KIDS Camp. RFKC-Joliet is part of a worldwide non-for-profit organization. In 2013 there were 173 camps in 35 states and 20 countries giving Hope to these children. I am walking for kids living in the Will, Grundy and Kendall County area. These children desperately need positive memories, renewed hope and healing. During their week at camp these kids are treated like ROYALTY! Each child will be able to leave their problems behind and experience life as a child should, in a safe, fun environment. Each year over 80 volunteers give up their vacation time to spend a week creating positive memories for “our” children. Each child attends camp completely free of charge. This is made possible because of the generosity of so many. This year’s primary fundraiser is this walkathon. Monies raised from this event will be the main source of support for an unforgettable week filled with life-changing moments. The children leave with gifts, a memory book filled with pictures of their new friends, and priceless lessons of love and hope. The cost of this week’s camp is approximately $35,000 for 55 campers. This includes all food, board, and activities. Could you find it in your heart to sponsor me on this upcoming walk-a-thon? Any donation is appreciated. Royal Family KIDS Camp is a 501c3 organization so all donations are tax deductable. Please visit for some great stories of how your money can change the life of a child forever. You can sponsor me in one of two ways: – With a cash donation - checks made payable to RFKC – Via the website – Use the donate button at the top of the page.– Thank You 8th Annual Miles for Memories Walk a Thon RFKC #188 / Michael Smith, Fundraising Director / (847) /
