14/05/2015http:// Rehabilitation International (RI) is a longstanding, worldwide network of people with disabilities, service providers, academics, professionals and government agencies working to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities and people in need of rehabilitation. RI: Who we are

14/05/2015http:// RI: Membership  RI’s national member organizations provide in- depth expertise on local and national needs.  With a presence in over 100 countries, they allow RI to address a broad range of human rights issues with an understanding of local context.  To bolster the effectiveness of individual members, RI links them together by convening regional conferences, workshops, training sessions, and producing monthly publications devoted to information sharing.

14/05/2015http:// Founded in 1922 as a society of volunteers to advocate and establish services for children with disabilities, RI has developed into a cross-disability, international organization that in 2010 celebrated 89 years as a leader in the disability community. History of RI

14/05/2015http:// on Dec. 13, 2006 at the United Nations in New York. Adoption of the UN CRPD

14/05/2015http:// Rehabilitation and habilitation go far beyond the health field and embrace a wide range of issues including education, social counseling, vocational training, transportation, accessibility and assistive technology. For most people with disabilities, access to adequate (re)habilitation is a pre-condition for integration into society and participation in the communities in which they live. Without rehabilitation many people with disabilities would be isolated from society, their community and even their family. Rehabilitation and Habilitation
