Presentation transcript:

 Top three most populated cities 1.Chicago, Illinois 2. Indianapolis, Indiana 3.Columbus, Ohio  The region of the Midwest is located to the west of the Northeast and to the east of the West region.

 The longitude and latitude of Chicago, Illinois are 41˚N and 87˚W.  People live in the region of the Midwest because they have good industries there and they have good plans on how to treat the environment.

 Anywhere between 19%-29% of the people who live in the Midwest are Catholic. Other religions include Lutheran, Baptist, and some don’t have a religion

 Major resources include the Great Lakes. The Great Lakes

 The effect of the weather on Midwest region is where some of them are living. There are parts in the near north that are deserted by the cold weather.  Also certain people don’t live in the Midwest because of the cold weather, since some only like to live in warm climates.

 The economic issues in the Midwest mainly deal with money. The people have a hard time paying taxes sometimes, as do other regions. This however is one of the better ones, it is more stable.

 It has affected the settlement of the Midwest because the region has some random spots of places where there is no spots of land. I also feel that part of the reason that there is no land is because of peoples jobs that include farming and different things.

 People in the Midwest think highly of the pollution problem. They use recyclable materials and treat land like their friends.  The lakes and rivers are not very polluted, but people work on cleaning them up everyday.

 People have chosen to live in the Midwest because of the places of land, economy, and jobs.

 A lot of goods are moved throughout the Midwest by trucks. Also things are shipped in by planes, or boats on the Great Lakes.  There are traditions that we follow such as hunting and fishing.

 Since one of the major transportation routes are the Great Lakes, if they are interrupted then the whole manufacturing system of the Midwest would be messed up.

 Major tourist attractions of the Midwest Include the Great Lakes, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Children's museum of Indianapolis, The Wisconsin Dells, and the Miller Brewing Company.

 Other unique characteristics in the Midwest would be how there is a lot of farming.
