How To Measure a Trough Style Hatch Cover Aero Transportation Products, Inc Begin by filling out the first item on the ID form. Phone:

Aero Transportation Products, Inc With the batten bar and cover open, clamp the straight edge inside the trough in line with the hinge pin as shown to the right. Measure from the edge of the straight edge to the centerline of the hinge pin. A = Inside Trough to Centerline of Pin A Phone:

Aero Transportation Products, Inc With the batten bar and cover open, position the straight edge across the top of the trough as shown below. Measure from the bottom of the straight edge to the centerline of the hinge pin. Be sure to indicate on ID form if the centerline of the hinge pin is above or below the top of the trough ring. B = Top of Trough to Centerline of Pin Phone:

Aero Transportation Products, Inc Measure the diameter of the hinge pin. Typically, this should measure 3/8”, 1/2” 5/8”, or 7/8” in diameter. C = Pin Diameter Phone:

Aero Transportation Products, Inc Measure the width of the loop on the batten bar that is attached to the hinge pin. D = Width of Loop at Pin D Phone:

Aero Transportation Products, Inc E = Inside of Trough to Inside Face of Lock With the cover and batten bar open, clamp the straight edge inside the trough in line with the lock as shown. Measure from the edge of the straight edge to the inside face of the lock. Inside Face Phone:

Aero Transportation Products, Inc F = Top of Trough to Top of Lock Tab With the batten bar and cover open, position the straight edge across the trough in line with the lock as shown to the right. Measure from the bottom edge of the straight edge to the bottom edge of the lock clamp. Be sure to indicate on ID form if the lock clamp is above or below the top of the trough. Phone:

Aero Transportation Products, Inc G = Style of Lock Tab ACF Lock Tab IRE Lock Tab ROM Lock Tab Phone:

Aero Transportation Products, Inc H = Inside Trough Width A Measure the inside trough opening size. This inside opening dimension should be 20”, 24”, or 30” wide. Phone:

Aero Transportation Products, Inc Measure the overall length of the batten bar from the centerline of the hinge pin to the end of the lock tab on the bar. I = Overall Length From Centerline of Pin I Phone:
