 Objectives: ◦ Transferring the learned information to the classroom. ◦ Provide resources for further education and reference. ◦ Provide contact information.

 While at school, children may need help with the management of their diabetes care programs, including: ◦ Testing and monitoring their blood glucose levels ◦ Maintaining their daily insulin regimen ◦ Eating regular amounts and calories of food on a regular schedule  What can you do? ◦ Be on the lookout for signs of high and low blood sugar. ◦ Keep fast acting carbs available in case of emergency. ◦ Act fast if you think your student is having a hyperglycemic or hypoglycemic episode. ◦ Be aware of changes in the student while in your care. ◦ Keep in contact with nurse and parent as much as possible.
