Agenda Our Focus Today Is: – Describe the New York Landscape relative to Common Core – How ADNY made curriculum changes to align with Common Core Standards – Adjustments to our assessment program – Communication challenges with implementation of Common Core
The New York Landscape with Common Core – New York State Department of Education (NYSED) adopts Common Core. Aligns with the PARCC assessment consortium in July 2010 Modifies 15% of Common Core to create Common Core Learning Standards for NY – Starts aligning state tests with Common Core.
