Overview of Career  Physical therapists (PTs) help patients, including accident victims and individuals with disabling conditions such as low-back pain, arthritis, heart disease, fractures, head injuries, and cerebral palsy, by providing services that restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. PTs normally work in a hospital or a personal practice. Some pts work outside where the injuries occur.

Key requirements  This job requires a very positive attitude.  And to be able to talk to your patients to find the problem and to fix it.

Subjects In High school  Most physical therapist take a interest in Anatomy and Physiology and basic biology in high school to understand the body and how it works, functions, and how to fix it.

Education  As far as college goes you need a masters or a doctoral degree in physical therapy.  There is also a state licensing exams and then workshops years later to keep license.

Median Salary  The average salary is about $74,480 a year.

Projected Job Growth  The PTs take up about 185,500 jobs in the U.S.  And most Pts work two jobs so the demand for PTs are extremely high. So job security is at a all time high in physical therapy.
