Needs in Our Neighborhood Estimated 5,000 – 10,000 homeless persons on any given night in the San Gabriel Valley (SGV). Families—36% of the homeless population in the SGV. Insufficient number available— short-term housing beds and permanent supportive housing units *Source: San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments, Regional Homeless Services Shelter Report (2009)

Where are we now? 5 Task Teams Formed Host Congregation Recruitment, Day Center, Transportation, Fundraising, Technology Legally incorporated in May 2009 Obtained 501(c)3 status Formed board and installed first set of officers Successfully recruited 8 churches Secured an 8-passenger van Secured $8,000 grant from City of Monterey Park Raised $105,000 so far!!
