The Feeding of the 5000 What sort of miracle is it going to be? What will it tell us about Jesus?

Identify differences & similarities between the video and the text. Watch the video. Compare with Mk 6:30-44 Identify differences & similarities between the video and the text. Answer the questions about the miracle according to your gospel: Where was Jesus and with who? What was the problem? Why did the disciples reject Jesus’ suggestion that they go and buy food? What did Jesus ask them next? What was their answer? What did Jesus tell them to do then? What did Jesus himself do? What was the result? **Why do you think Jesus first suggested to the disciples to buy food?

Importance of the Story Jesus takes pity on crowd (not irritated by them) as they are desperate for guidance - he teaches them for many hours. He “feeds” them on his teaching- they are hungry for truth.
