Interesting Inscriptions  In a New Mexico cemetery - “Here lies Johnny Yeast, pardon me for not rising”  In a cemetery in Nova Scotia - “Here lies Ezekial Aikle, Age 102, The Good Die Young.”  A lawyer in England - “Sir John Strange, Here lies an honest lawyer, And that is Strange.”  In Boot Hill Cemetery in Tombstone, Arizona - “Here lies Lester Moore, Four slugs from a.44, No Les No More.”  In a Georgia cemetery - “I told you I was sick.”

Abraham “Friend of God”  Genesis 22:1-19  Friend of God – “Obeyed” John 15:14  We can have the faith of Abraham  Trust and Obey “And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called And. the Friend of God.” James 2:23 “Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.”

Moses “He Forsook Egypt”  Refused to be called son of Pharoah’s daughter Rejected earthly glory Chose to suffer afflction Fear God – Not man “By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.”

Dorcas “Full of Good Works” Acts 9: 36 “Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.”  She helped the poor  Women can do Lord’s work  Dorcas had a good name Proverbs 22:1 A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

Paul “Fought a Good Fight”  Fight of Faith Acts 20:17-27 “Humbly Served the Lord” “Kept Nothing Back” “Preached Repentance” “Declared Whole Counsel”  Romans 1:14-16 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Tim. 4:7,8

How Will You Be Remembered?  One with a strong faith  Your lack of faith  Full of good works  Buried your talent  The life you live today determines the destiny tomorrow
