“Bioenergy and organic fertilizers in Rural Areas” (BofRA) NPP project development clinic Reykjavik November 2013 Eiður Guðmundsson The primary aim of the BofRA project To strengthen and prepare the infrastructure in agricultural regions in in Northern remote and peripheral regions for future processing and utilization of Renewable Energy, Biomass and Organic fertilizers. The main objectives of the BofRA project The project will build a network of organisations in the participating regions that will analyse the current situation to establish their ability and potential benefit for future combined processing and utilization of agricultural and organic residue materials. It will exchange and connect new and existing knowledge and experiences to develop regional plans to implement new or improved bioenergy, biomass and organic fertiliser strategies. It will map the potential resources of biomass which can be utilized for bioenergy production in the project regions. It will provide the regions with a template and Geographical Decision Support System (GDSS) designed for transferring the strategy and solutions to other areas of the participating countries and other regions of the NPP.
