+ My Trip to France Avignon & Nice Spring 2013

+ WHY?? It’s been almost three years since I lived in France, and I miss it dearly! I’m going to go back to the town I lived in, Avignon, and visit some of my friends and the family that I stayed with. I also want to go to Nice, a town in the French Riviera. I was there during my spring break three years ago, and I loved it! I’ll get to visit the beach, art museums, and good shopping and dining! Some of my French friends who live in other parts of the country will come stay with me. I’m going to go during my spring break (plus an extra week!) when prices are cheap, according to my research, and there aren’t too many tourists.

+ Transportation... Flight from Chicago to Paris: $583 on Scandinavian Air on Saturday, March 16 Train from Paris to Avignon: $130 on TGV on Sunday, March 17 Train from Avignon to Nice: $75 on TGV on Sunday, March 24 Flight from Nice to Chicago: $ 507 on Scandinavia Air on Saturday, March 30

+ Where I’ll stay... In Avignon, I’m staying at the Pop’ Hostel, right on the main street in town. It’s $177 to stay there from 4/17 - 4/24 in a 6 bed mixed dorm. In Nice, I’m staying at Hostel Paradis, right by the beach and a huge shopping square. It’s $210 to stay there from 4/24 - 4/30 in a 5 bed mixed dorm.

+ What I’ll do... Avignon: I mostly just want to hang out with my friends & “family” and walk around to see my school, church, and favorite hang out spots there. But I also need to see: Le Palais des Papes (the Popes’ Palace) Le Pont St. Benezet (the famous Avignon bridge) Nice Beach / Promenade des Anglais Vieille Ville (Old Town) Chagall Museum Day trip to Monaco
