The Summer Term blended learning design challenge

How students spend their study time - the summer ‘blend’  Face-to-face activities (with teacher physically present)  Structured/facilitated online activities (e.g. quizzes, facilitated online discussions, webinars)  Self-directed learning (e.g. background reading or research, assignment preparation)  Work-integrated learning (e.g. external placements or projects)

Considerations  level of unit and likely study skills?  need for scaffolding and feedback?  diversity of student group?  need for time to reflect and integrate learning? intensity of interaction with students balance of campus and online interaction proportion of self- directed study in addition to more intense activity schedules MODELS: intensive OR 80:20 OR fully online
