Passion What is passion Comes from inside Love for the job Love for the tradition Love for the history Comes from inside Something that should be passed on Give it to the new guy Show it, prove it

INTEGRITY Built on Character What you do when no one is looking Who you are What you are about What you do when no one is looking Integrity is the foundation of Character Do you talk about our service behind our back Honestly With both yourself and those around you

Honor Respect and Loyalty Esprit’ de Corps Caring about those around you What would you do for your “brother” Do you mean it Not allowing anyone to give us a “black eye” What can hurt our rep? What will hurt your rep?

Pride Pride takes work Requires Ownership How do you treat your fire department? Does it reflect in you? Does it bother you to wear your blue shirt? Is it wrinkled in the back of your locker? Recognition Awards Can we have pride in these?

Pride We have to Fireman (firefighter that can do the job) back in the fire service Pride, Honor, Integrity, Ownership, Passion We have to put the firehouse back to where it needs to be This is our home Pride, Ownership We need to put the fire stuff on the walls Tradition, History, Fires!

Brotherhood Means Helping out when the kids are born And knowing their names When it is time to move we are all there You buy the beer It means laying down your life for your brother any time any where!

Brotherhood Quotes There is a destiny which makes us brothers; None goes his way alone. Edwin Markham We can not live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us to our fellow men; and among those fibers as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects. Herman Melville

Brotherhood Quotes “My country is my world, my countrymen are mankind” William Lloyd Garrison “It is in the shelter of each other that the people live” Irish Proverb “You may call for peace as loudly as you wish, but where there is no brotherhood there can in the end be no peace” Max Lerner

Brotherhood Quotes “United we stand Divided we fall” Aesop 620-560 BC “When a man becomes a fireman his greatest act of bravery has been accomplished. What he does after that is all in the line of work. They were not thinking of getting killed when they went where death lurked. They went there to put the fire out, and got killed. Firefighters do not regard themselves as heroes because they do what the business requires.” Edward F Croker FDNY 1844-1911

“I have no ambition in this world but one, and that is to be a firefighter The position may, in the eyes of some, appear to be a lowly one; but we who know the work which the firefighter has to do believe that his is a noble calling” Edward F Croker FDNY 1884-1911
