Program Overview  Irish Youth Football is comprised of two programs 3/4 (Junior Division)& 5/6 (Senior Division) Grade In House League  Teams compete against other teams within the program  At the end of the day we are all playing for the same community  Goal is to provide your family and your son with a great experience by teaching them the game and a love for the sport. IYF supports our 7-8 grade ERAVE program.

IYF - Operating Philosophy  The philosophy of this program is based on player development and competition We want our kids to love to play football  Work hard  Teamwork  Be prepared  Be good sports  Be good winners  Be good losers  Be competitive Remember- when the season is over, we are all on the same Team, Rosemount. Your conduct as parents is very important, remember the kids see and hear what you do and say!! STAY POSITIVE

IYF - Operating Philosophy Youth Football 3-6 Grade 7 th /8 th Grade SSYFL Teams High School Football Grades 9-12 Bigger, Faster, Stronger Program

IYF - Operating Philosophy  What are coaches responsible for? Yourself Your players Your parents Your Attitude  What are parents responsible for? Be the example for your kids Supporting the kids Getting kids to practices and games on time Working with and supporting your coaches Helping with game prep (Fields, chains, etc…).

Irish Youth Football Mini-Camp- This Sunday  Purpose  July 31 st. Allows valuable training for our kids and coaches before the evaluations. Run by the High School Coaches and Players  All volunteer time – No fees Introduction to tackle football for our new kids Development for all of our kids Please show up at least 20 minutes before your time slot Bring water

Irish Youth Football Combine – Monday and Tuesday  Purpose  Chance to evaluate each player to facilitate equal distribution of players. We measure: Speed  4 Drills Contact Day’s: Monday and Tuesday, August 1st and 2nd  4-5 Stations (blocking, tackling, stance, catching and throwing)  Draft night, Wednesday and Thursday, August 3rd and 4th  Should be contacted by your coach Thurs/ Friday

IYF Practice Recommendations  Plan ahead – Time is limited! 4 activities per week  Includes Game Nights 2 hrs. during Summer 1.5 hrs. after school starts  Have a Purpose – Keep it Simple  Involve your parents - Communicate  Be consistent – Repetition is good  Keep control of practice

Irish Youth Football Other Recommendations  Attend the parent meeting at the first practice  Volunteer to be a team manager  Always bring water for your child  Be early for activities  Stay and watch practice  Support your son and his coaches

Key Rules and Field Space  Key Rules: Playing Time Start on offense or defense, one special team Ball Carry Rule Weight Limits- safety  Field Space: New this season- we will use Shannon Park at the start of the season. After the combine- we will not use the HS fields. Parking

Referees- John Huot  Two Referees per game- 3rd/4 th  Three Referees per game- 5 th /6th Drew Storley is our HS Ref Coordinator  John Huot is our IYF Coordinator  High School Varsity Players  Please treat them with respect No tolerance for the mistreatment of officials These are our players and our sons

Equipment- Jon Thissen  We purchase all of our gear from Metro Athletic Supply http: metroathletic.com  Mike Kern – RAAA manages our helmet inventory. We track our helmets and they are reconditioned on a cycle basis every year. The cost is between $2,000-$3000 every year.  We are buying new equipment every year  New Chin straps last year

Equipment – Pants (reminder)  Parents will purchase pants this year. We will order/ sell at equipment handouts / On line sales at rosemountfootball.com  All in one pants – no need to remove pads  This will save us close to 50 hours of volunteer time every year, as well as storage space  All white pants

Key Dates - Review  RHS July 31st  Evaluation week and RHS August 1 st and 2 nd Evals; August 3 rd and 4th Draft nights.  Practices Shannon Park August 7 th or 8 th Pictures August 15-17
