AFSPC/XPXP85/14/2015 Mission Area Teams AFSPC planning is supported through five mission area teams Space Force Enhancement - provides combat support operations to improve the effectiveness of land, sea, space, air, and special operations forces Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM), Terrestrial and Space Weather, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Positioning / Navigation / Timing (PNT), Command and Control (C2) for NORAD and USSTRATCOM missions, supporting all combatant commanders Space Force Application - provides deterrence and prompt global strike to the warfighter from/through space Nuclear and Non-nuclear Deterrence/Strike Space Support - is comprised of Spacelift and Satellite Operations Spacelift Vehicles and Spacelift Ranges Counterspace - operations consist of those operations conducted to attain and maintain a desired degree of space superiority by allowing friendly forces to exploit space capabilities while negating an adversary’s ability to do the same Space Situation Awareness, Defensive Counterspace and Offensive Counterspace Mission Support - provides the basic infrastructure and support spanning all areas
