What is the PCHS PRIDE Project?  Essential Questions How do I identify local issues that exist in the areas of science and/or medicine? How can I identify resources to better understand a local issue in the areas of science and/or medicine? How can community service help me to understand a local issue in science and/or medicine? How can I positively impact my community through research in science and/or medicine?

Evaluating the PCHS PRIDE Project and Portfolio  Live Binders - online portfolio  Panel of Judges  Grades in Courses during 9 th, 10 th, 11 th, and 12 th grade years  Completion of Project with final end Product or Presentation

Specific Requirements – 9 th  Health Care Research Paper and Visuals  Reflective Questions from Symposium  Resume and Brag Sheet  One-page answer to Focus Question: How will my career pathway in science and/or medicine help me to better serve the needs within the community?  Free choice of at least one written assignment from an academic class  Live Binder Portfolio due on 4/25/14

Specific Requirements – 10 th  Updated Resume and Brag Sheet, include certificates and accomplishments  List of References and Resources to include the following: Locations of three community-service opportunities List of three professionals on local issue Four current resources on local issue  One-page reflection on Focus Question: How did I identify resources to better understand a local issue in science and/or medicine?  Free choice of at least one written assignment from an academic class  Live Binder Portfolio due on 4/25/14
