Presentation transcript:

Question: What Would It Look Like? What would it look like if good people and organizations from all over Nassau County decided to display banners that celebrated nonviolence? Then as residents traveled throughout the County, they’d see this message. Young and old might stop to think or reflect. Some might commit themselves to nonviolence. Others might be inspired to bring the message to others. That would be nice. What Would It Look Like?

It would look like this

The phrase “nonviolence, learn it, live it, teach it” comes from the King Center in Atlanta, Georgia. It describes our purpose in developing the “Signs of Nonviolence” campaign, a Nassau County effort to promote nonviolence. We invite youth programs, churches, schools, community organizations, etc. to come together, in the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, to spread a message of nonviolence and be part of this exciting effort. For more information on the “Signs of Nonviolence” campaign: Freeport Pride, 46 Pine Street, Freeport, NY 11520, This project in cosponsored by Freeport Cares.
