Cancer By Edward Pope

What is the most common types of cancer? Did you know that the most common type of cancer is Lung Cancer. This type of cancer is a humongous number as millions and millions of people all around the world have this particular type. There are many other types of cancers such as Bladder, Breast, Colon and Rectal(together), Endometrial, Kidney, Leukaemia, Lung, Melanoma, Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, Pancreatic, Prostate, Renal and Thyroid.

Fast facts Did you know That the new estimated number of renal cell cancer for 2010 is 49, 904? Each year more than 7 million people die of cancer. More than 24 million people currently suffer from cancer. Cancer covers 13% of all deaths.

What some cancers look like As you already know, all the forms of cancer are bad. These types can come to you hereditary or from a simple thing like smoking. Below are some images of different types of cancer. Melanoma

What causes cancer? Cancer is caused by one single cell. Over a number of stages the cell transforms into a tumour cell. This transformation can be a genetic thing, physical carcinogens (which could be caused by radiation), chemical carcinogens (which can be caused by contaminated drinking water, some foods and also tobacco smoke), or biological carcinogens ( infections, bacteria or parasites).
